St. Luke's Global City We Care Package Experience

After month's of waiting, our very special day has finally arrived.  My little girl was born into this world last June 11 @ St.Luke's Global City in Taguig.  If not for St. Luke's Global City's We Care Maternity package, We would have opted to deliver my child @ The Asian Hospital in Alabang which is nearer to our home in Laguna.  Never-the-less, I was glad the both my wife and child were safe and healthy after the delivery.  Deciding to take the We Care package turned-out to be a good decision as We were able to save a lot in hospital bills and were well taken cared of during our stay in the hospital.  Since, this was already our 3rd child, We already knew pretty much what to expect during the delivery.  Though, I don't really recommend the We Care Package for 1st time parents if they're not yet confident of their parental instincts on a few accounts:

1. In essence, the We Care Package is after all a package, so the medicines and some of the items that will be used are limited and computed under normal situations (e.g. You have to bring sets of your child's clothes, mittens, booties, receiving blankets, and even diapers as these are single use items and continued use of hospital supplies will be billed to your account).

2.  The room is semi-private.  So this means that you might be roomed in with 1 or 3 more patients separated by collapsible dividers.  But don't worry, they usually make sure that all the rooms have at least assigned to a patient before they room you in with another patient.  We stayed alone inside the room for 3 days.  We were only joined by another patient on the 4th day where in We checked-out to go home.

3.  Room amenities compared to a Private room are very different.  For one, there is no television or refrigerator inside the room and there is only a single ottoman chair available for  the patients companion to occupy.

But don't worry, the staff and nurses are always there to guide and assist the parents on taking care of their baby.  How helpful were they? Let's just say that I was able to go home to our 2 other kids and leave my wife alone in the hospital to take care of the baby.  Since St. Luke's Global City advocates breast feeding, they'll even assign you a lactating nurse to guide you on how to properly breast feed your baby. Kudos to their wonderful Nurses and Staff for making our stay more comfortable.

If you can and like, the father is allow to go inside the delivery room to witness the delivery of your baby.  You can take all the pictures like, but video's are not allowed.  It's also nice to see that the mother is immediately roomed in with the baby after the delivery.  Making it more convenient for family members and friends to see the baby.  Only, babies with complications during birth are separated from the mother and taken to the NICU.

Commuting to and from St. Luke's Global City is made convenient with the availability of Shuttle Services.

As a token gift, they'll be giving you a free set of clothes with receiving blanket for your new born baby.
