How I renewed my Philippine Driver's License

It’s that time of year again when you have to go out and renew you drivers license. They expire every 3 years and it seems that there’s always a new procedure or fee to pay for. This year is no exemption. But I would suggest you go to a License Renewal Center than go to an LTO office, because the lines get crowded especially for documents and payment processing.  I’ve summarized some helpful tips to guide you on renewing your Drivers License.

Renewing your License is simple just follow the steps below:

1. Take your Driver’s License and present it to the front desk for processing and assessment. You will be given an application form to fill-up. 
2. Fill-up the form and proceed for medical check-up. You will be asked to pay for a Php 100 fee. Your height, weight, and BP will be measured and they will be checking your eye sight. Good thing they already removed the drug test which takes about an hour for the results to complete. 
3. Take you form back to the front desk for assessment and your be given a number for picture taking and signature specimen capture. 
4. Wait to be called to receive your documents for payment of the fees.
5. Wait to be called to the payment window to settle the fees. I paid Php 417.63 for the license.
6. Take the documents and receipt to the claiming window to receive you license.
7. Congratulations your done...

 I consumed about 1 1/2 hours for the entire process, mostly due to waiting. I would suggest you go in the afternoon as the lines are shorter. I came there around 3 pm and finished at 4:30 pm.
